According to Jim

Always a man's man, JIM is a laid-back contractor who craves nothing more than his favorite chair and a cold beer. Competing for Jim's attention are his wife CHERYL, the rock of the family -- and his three children: GRACIE, RUBY and KYLE. Life for Jim would be easier without the intrusions of Cheryl's successful -- yet meddlesome -- sister DANA and her temperamental brother ANDY, an uptight architect who works with Jim. To escape, Jim retreats to his garage where he finds not peace and quiet ... but his six-man blues band, ready to raise the roof! At the conclusion of last season, Cheryl’s sister, Dana (Kimberly Williams-Paisley), and her husband, Ryan (Mitch Rouse), announced Dana was pregnant. This season, as Jim and Cheryl eagerly await the arrival of the new family member, Jim continues to offer his trademark advice on all subjects -- solicited or not. Jim’s brother-in-law, Andy (Larry Joe Campbell), continues to clumsily cruise for chicks for whom he is filled with audacious adulation. The inevitable slaps and drinks in the face only make him more determined in his quest to find Ms. Right. And as Jim’s closest friend, he still covers for the latter’s conniving capers, all to Cheryl’s chagrin.

According to Jim

Jim (Jim Belushi, Saturday Night Live) is a regular suburban father. He's married to a gorgeous woman, Cheryl (Courteney Thorne-Smith, Melrose Place, Ally McBeal), and raises his three kids - Gracie, Ruby and the newborn Kyle - on a big house. Everything is perfect for Jim, if it wasn't the messy situations he gets himself into and his laziness, which often makes him search for alternative ways of doing things with less effort.. Of course, having his wife's siblings hanging out at his house all the time is no help. While Andy (Larry Joe Campbell The Trouble With Normal) might be one of his best friends, Dana (Kimberly Williams) often teams up with Cheryl against Jim. But as long as they're family, it's all good.
